Ashley Sawyer has practiced family law almost exclusively since she began her legal career. Prior to practicing family law, Ashley served as the staff attorney to Honorable C. LaTain Kell of the Superior Court of Cobb County for two years. Ashley’s previous experience as a judicial staff attorney gives her a unique and invaluable perspective that she brings to each of her family law cases.

Ashley is a former chairman of the Young Lawyers Family Law Committee of the State Bar of Georgia. During her tenure as chairman, Ashley received an award for Outstanding Service to the Profession by the State Bar of Georgia due to her successful leadership of the committee and substantial fundraising efforts benefiting the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Ashley is a graduate of the Young Lawyers Leadership Academy of the State Bar of Georgia, a competitive and nationally recognized leadership program for young lawyers. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

Atlanta Magazine has recognized Ashley as a "Rising Star" in the area of family law. She has also been recognized as a Top 10 Family Lawyer Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.

Ashley is a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. She is member of the Family Law Section, Women in the Profession Section and the Council of Younger Lawyers Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Ashley is also a member of the Family Law Section and the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.

Ashley received her JD from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 2008. While in law school, Ashley was a member of the Moot Court Board, was selected by her professors to serve as a Caruthers Fellow for the 1L legal writing program, and volunteered at Birmingham elementary schools teaching introductory legal principles. Ashley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2005. At UGA, Ashley was an active member of her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and served as a mentor to local elementary school students in the Athens-Clarke County Mentorship Program.

Ashley was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia and is a graduate of Marietta High School. She currently resides in Smyrna, Georgia with her husband, David, who is also an attorney. Ashley is an active member of and volunteer at Buckhead Church.
